Hi, I’m Nikoletta Christofi, an undergraduate Interior Architecture student at the University of Portsmouth. This blog is part of my Histories, Theories, and Matters of Concern course, but more than that, it’s a space where I question, challenge, and explore the world of architecture beyond its polished facade.

So, why the name "Architecture is a Scam"?

It’s not just to provoke it’s a statement worth unpacking. Architecture promises utopian cities, perfect spaces, and seamless design solutions. But in reality? It’s full of contradictions. Buildings don’t always serve the people they’re designed for. Sustainability is often just a buzzword. And let’s face it some so-called “iconic” structures prioritize spectacle over substance.

This blog is about peeling back the layers, questioning the narratives, and exposing the overlooked truths of the built environment. If you're ready to see architecture from a different perspective flaws, failures, and all then you’re in the right place.
